Founded in 1948, Fox Chapel Country Day School is a small, independent, elementary school providing a foundation that is centered in academics and the arts, in which each child may achieve both academic success and personal self-confidence.

Fox Chapel Country Day School helps students to grow academically, develop physical skills, appreciate the arts, and gain self-confidence. Country Day School endeavors to reach these goals by providing a positive, unhurried environment that promotes inquiry, discovery, creativity and an enthusiasm for learning.

Basic skills are developed and strengthened through a traditional but flexible program of instruction, complemented by outdoor time for children to play and to explore the natural setting of the school. To enhance each child's potential for success, the school encourages and provides many opportunities for close, supportive interaction among students, teachers, and parents.
