I am very thankful for Fox Chapel Country Day! I'm very lucky to have awesome teachers! They're helpful because they help us learn new things. I'm grateful to have the wonderful art room! I love art! I love the friends I have in Country Day School! They are nice to me. I love the Country Day School! I learn a lot of interesting things. - A Current Student

I like Country Day School because they make learning fun by making games out of lessons. Also you get to go on a lot of hikes down to the creek. You also have a lot of fun in Specials. - A Current Student

The Country Day students have had an easy transition to our middle school. Academically and socially, the children are not hesitant to ask questions and contribute to class discussions, they exhibit excellent work ethic, they gain friends easily, they participate in drama and athletics, and they take active roles in leadership projects. A recent Country Day graduate was referred to as, "kind, thoughtful, easy going, and hardworking." This student embodied the school motto, "gentle in manner, strong in deed." We are pleased to have your children become part of our school. - Admissions Director of an Independent School

Country Day School is a fun place for learning. I can’t believe my dad and I both had Mr. Whiteman as a music teacher. - An Alumna

It has been so special to bring my children to Country Day, traveling the same driveway I traveled as a child. More importantly, my children were always ready to hop out of the car every morning to truly enjoy another day of learning. - An Alumna and Parent of Five Country Day Graduates

Fox Chapel Country Day School is a magical place where learning life’s lessons happens in an extraordinary way.
For us, it is truly a “gift we give our children.”

An Alumnus and Parent of Four Country Day Graduates

Country Day was the Eden of my childhood and one of the key reasons for us to move back to Pittsburgh. My children are thriving in all aspects of school life and think it's great to attend the same school as their mom, and aunts and uncle. While many things have changed over the years, for me, one thing remains the same; Country Day is a safe, nurturing environment where the faculty, students and parents work together to build a loving and supportive community that creates memories for a lifetime. - An Alumna and Parent of Two Country Day Students

I wanted to give my children the gift of Country Day. When I recall my years at FCCDS, it felt as though I had a “hug” around me for my whole journey through elementary school. It is a place that gives you the chance to feel known, loved and cherished as a friend, student and individual. I have never seen another school quite like it. - An Alumna and Parent of Two Country Day Students and One Country Day Graduate

Dating back to my days as a Kindergarten student at Country Day, being a teacher has been my lifelong dream. I truly believe it was the amazing teachers who inspired me to grow up and chose this profession. So many of my childhood memories involve being a student at Country Day, and returning to its community has been such a rewarding experience. I feel so lucky to be a part of the Country Day family. -An Alumna and Teacher at Country Day

My son has had a fabulous sixth grade year academically and socially. He has been able to easily handle the transition from having one classroom to many. He was very comfortable fitting in socially to a new place with hundreds of children more than he had ever experienced. When I asked if he felt that going to Country Day had any effect on how he did this year, he said he credits mostly all of his success to what he learned at Country Day. He feels very strongly that he was well prepared because of the teachers and staff at Country Day and all of the experiences he was able to have and learn from. - A Parent of a Country Day Graduate

In a nutshell, for me it's always been about the intangibles at Country Day that help make our children happy, successful students and people. Academically, the kids don't miss a beat when they move on to 6th Grade - they are more than well prepared for the rigors of middle school. But again, it's the intangible qualities that Country Day instills into them that makes our school so one of a kind. The children are so comfortable with who they are and they learn to be very accepting of others at the same time. There is such a loving guidance coupled with a fairly strict moral code at Country Day that is truly a unique combination. They can't possibly be anything other than socially confident, happy, compassionate children! - A Parent of a Country Day Graduate

We have found that the FCCDS students tend to be well prepared with the prerequisite skills needed in 6th grade math and they adjust well and participate in class. - Middle School Math Teacher of an Independent School

Country Day makes you an individual and team player. It also gives you confidence to continue onto Middle School with its challenging curriculum and hands-on learning programs. Most importantly are the friendships that will last forever. I love Fox Chapel Country Day School. - A Current Student
